Kalani is inspired by the story of Queen Lydia Liliʻu Loloku Walania Kamakaʻeha of the island of Hawaii. She was the first and only female monarch of Hawaii.
She was the last reigning monarch of the Hawaii kingdom before she was overthrown by those in her kingdom sympathetic to American interests. She was placed on house arrest for the remainder of her life because she sought to restore the power of the monarchy and interests of the natives. American interests had become deeply rooted in the kingdom. The United States would soon have her deposed and would annex the land of Hawaii for itself. She is also renown for her song 'Aloha ʻOe' - she wrote this song in 1878 as a princess.
This fragrance evokes royalty with Taif rose, May rose, and rose accords, along with the rich smokiness and warmness of Hawaaiin sandalwood, amber and woods. Kalani is a tribute to the beauty of feminine power, grace, and resilience in the face of unfairness and capitalistic greed.
Notes of musk, taif rose, May rose, rose accords, Guaicwood, Peony oil, Birch Tar, Vanilla, Raspberry, amber, woods and creamy sandalwood accords.
This fragrance is scheduled for discovery in the summer of 2024.
