Our Green Policy. Environmentally Conscious

Founded in 2022, J'Elle Bulan is committed to protecting the environment and reducing our carbon footprint. We adhere to an internal policy reducing the use of plastics, and also reusing and recycling plastics. We are also committed to biodegradable materials when possible in our product presentations. For this reason, we currently choose to refrain from cellophane wrapping our product presentations until we can find a reliable and sustainable biodegradable option. Cellophane is environmentally friendly because it's made from renewable plant cellulose and is biodegradable and compostable, unlike petroleum-based plastics. However, its production can be energy-intensive and involve toxic chemicals, and some types are coated, which can hinder decomposition.

We use biodegradable packing peanuts that dissolve in water. Please note: Biodegradable peanuts are an environmentally friendly alternative because they are made from corn or wheat starch and can dissolve in water or be composted. To tell the difference, biodegradable peanuts are not static-clingy and will dissolve when a stream of water is run over them, while foam peanuts will not. In the near future, we will also incorporate kraft paper  into our packing materials to enhance our commitment to the environment.
